Dr. Refat Atef Ghunem

Refat Atef Ghunem received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the American University of Sharjah, UAE, in 2008 and 2010, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Waterloo in 2014. Dr. Ghunem is Team Leader, Electrical Power Measurements, at the Metrology Research Center, National Research Council Canada. Refat was a professeur associé in the École de technologie supérieure and is currently an adjunct assistant professor at the University of Waterloo. He is an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation and was the chair of the outdoor insulation committee of the IEEE Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation Society between 2016-2022. Dr. Ghunem is a registered professional engineer in the province of Ontario. His research interests include condition monitoring and diagnostics of high voltage systems, outdoor insulation, application of novel measurement techniques in the study of polymeric insulating materials and high accuracy electrical power measurements.
Dr. Khaled Shaban

Dr. Khaled Shaban received the Ph.D. degree from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Canada, in 2006. He is currently a Professor with the Computer Science and Engineering Department, College of Engineering, Qatar University, Doha, Qatar. His research experience in academic and industrial institutions covers a variety of domains in intelligent systems application and design.
