Shirley Wang

Shirley holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and a Master of Science in Pharmacy, earned at the University of Waterloo. Her academic journey reflects a deep commitment to advancing pharmaceutical sciences, evident during her master's research in Alzheimer's drug discovery. There, she developed novel molecules targeting beta-amyloid aggregation, earning recognition with the Memorial poster award at the 2023 Canadian Society for Pharmaceutical Sciences conference. In her more than five years in small pharma, she honed her expertise in developing bioanalytical methods for assessing novel transdermal drug delivery technologies, contributing significantly to the pre-clinical studies. Her PhD, Shirley's passion for pharmacometrics drives her work on physiologically-based pharmacokinetic models, with a focus on advancing neonatal drug exposure assessment during lactation. This work aims to provide a vital means of assessing infant risk when considering the continuation of medical treatments during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
