Proud to share an important advancement in antimicrobial stewardship and precision dosing—one that will directly support clinicians caring for acutely ill patients.
The newly published ACCP Consensus Guidance for Beta‑Lactam Antibiotic Dose Individualization in Acutely Ill Patients is endorsed by seven major international organizations. This highlights a shared commitment to improving outcomes through individualized, evidence‑based therapy.
Endorsing organizations include:
- American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP)
- European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID)
- ESCMID PK/PD of Anti‑Infectives Study Group
- Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA)
- International Association of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring and Clinical Toxicology (IATDMCT)
- Society of Critical Care Medicine (SCCM)
- Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP)
It was a pleasure to contribute to this important international multidisciplinary initiative, bringing together expertise across infectious diseases, critical care, pharmacometrics, laboratory medicine, and pediatrics to develop practical, evidence-informed guidance for beta-lactam dose individualization in acutely ill patients. A meaningful step forward for clinicians, pharmacists, and stewardship teams striving to deliver precise, patient‑specific care.
