Relationship between binge-watching behavior and inattentive and impulsive traits
Hiba Nauman is an Honours Science Psychology student currently wrapping up her third year of undergraduate studies. Although Hiba is still exploring her research and clinical interests, she has developed a great interest in ADHD through working with children with ADHD at The Hospital for Sick Children and the KidsAbility Centre for Child Development. Additionally, Hiba has volunteered in the Child and Adolescent Neuropsychology (CAN) lab here on campus since her first year. Through the CAN lab Hiba has gained valuable research experience helping graduate students on studies pertaining to executive function. Currently, Hiba is completing an Honours Thesis under the supervision of Dr.Tara McAuley. Her thesis investigates the relationship between binge-watching behavior on online streaming sites in relation to ADHD traits such as inattention and impulsivity. She ultimately hopes to learn whether young adults high in certain ADHD traits are more likely to develop a tendency to binge-watch. Following completion of her undergraduate studies, Hiba hopes to pursue graduate studies in Clinical Child Psychology.
