Emotion regulation, imagery, and anxiety in elite performance
Katie Finch is a Waterloo graduate student in the clinical psychology program who is interested in exploring different factors related to performance anxiety and its effective treatment. She is particularly interested in music performance anxiety (MPA) and how mental imagery can be used to help musicians deal with MPA. Katie is also interested in whether skilled performers (e.g., musicians and athletes) experience negative images of themselves in performance situations and how this might relate to past anxiety provoking performance experiences. In her spare time, Katie enjoys playing the cello and chasing around her miniature dachshund.
