Abu Yousuf Md Abdullah completed his MSc in Public Health Sciences from the University of Waterloo under the supervision of Professor. Jane Law. Abdullah has been working in the health sector (Canada and Bangladesh) for nearly five years and worked as a Co-Investigator in health surveys of multi-country projects such as the Child Health and Mortality Prevention Surveillance (CHAMPS) and as a Senior Research Officer (Geospatial) in the Program on Emerging Infections at icddr,b. Abdullah's research focuses on analyzing the relationship between built-environment factors and various health outcomes using machine learning and geospatial techniques.
Until 2021, Abdullah has published eleven peer-reviewed articles (five lead-authored) and is a reviewer of ten prominent international journals, including the Nature Scientific Reports, PLoS Neglected Tropical Diseases, BMC Tropical Medicine and Health, PLoS One and Remote Sensing. Abdullah is currently working as a Research Associate in Dr. Law's NSERC-funded project to advance spatial analysis methodologies using the Bayesian framework.
