Dr. Cameron B. Chiarot is a health economist, epidemiologist, and biostatistician specializing in health system resilience and climate change adaptation in global health contexts with limited resources. Located at the University of Waterloo’s School of Public Health Sciences, Dr. Chiarot's research is conducted in Western Province, Zambia. Dr. Chiarot's research applies advanced statistical analysis and disease modelling to evaluate the effects of adverse interactions between environmental shocks and chronic system stressors on essential primary care health services, including maternal, child, and infectious disease outcomes. Dr. Chiarot established the theoretical framework, termed economyndemic, to enhance our understanding of how macro- and microeconomic conditions interact to exacerbate health disparities and inequities. Supported by over twenty years of comprehensive experience as a senior healthcare executive overseeing large-scale strategic and financial operations at Canada's leading academic health institutions, Dr. Chiarot holds a PhD from the University of Waterloo's School of Public Health Sciences, an MBA with Distinction from York University’s Schulich School of Business, an Honors Bachelor of Science from the University of Western Ontario, and a certificate in Healthcare Executive Leadership from the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management.
