Nushrat Nazia received her PhD degree in Public Health Sciences from the University of Waterloo in 2023 where she focused on understanding the spatial epidemiology of a highly transmissible disease in urban neighbourhoods using COVID-19 outbreaks in Toronto as a case study.
She is currently working as a postdoctoral scholar. Her primary research interests lie in health statistics, spatial and spatiotemporal epidemiology, disease modelling, health equity and healthy aging. Her most recent research projects focus on joint modelling of multiple health outcomes of COVID-19 hospitalizations and mortalities in Ontario, opioid overdose deaths in Canada and understanding the impact of noise exposure on mental health and illnesses in Canada.
