Graduate Student

I received a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology (Biology Minor) from the University of Waterloo in 2016. I am currently working on a Master's of Psychology under the co-supervision of Drs. Jennifer Stolz and Jonathan Fugelsang.

Most recently, I've been interested in how humans form, fabricate, and extract subjective meaning from the world.

This line of research has included the perception of profoundness in computer generated abstract art, how offensive words interfere with our ability to parse sentences for their underlying meaning, and the factors influencing what motives we infer about people making moral decisions.

I am also interested in the dynamics of human mate choice. In particular how knowledge of a potential mate's non-physical characteristics (Intelligence, Sexual History, etc) affects subjective ratings of attractiveness.
