Waterloo Engineering Alumni Kimberley Kadour (BASc ‘00) and Megan Walker (BASc ‘13) join the Recent Engineering Alumni Council for a round table discussion about their experiences exploring different professional career paths. This conversation will delve into Kimberley and Megan’s professional journeys, which include transitioning between roles such as product, marketing, sales, strategic planning, operations, and teaching. You will gain invaluable insights into navigating career transitions, leveraging expertise across industries, and embracing the joys and challenges of exploring the ever-evolving landscape of career opportunities. Kimberley Kadour, B.A.Sc, M.HSc, candidate B.Ed (2024)
Kim is an experienced business leader with a passion for developing people. With a background in Systems Design Engineering from Waterloo (2000) and Clinical Biomedical Engineering from University of Toronto (2002), Kim has a broad range of experience over 25 years across product development, marketing, sales and strategic planning in both European and North American markets. Kim has held various senior leadership roles from large blue chip companies to university spin-outs. She has extensive training, coaching and mentoring experience with business professionals, ranging in topics from career development and Emotional Intelligence to developing people and creating high performing teams. Most recently, Kim has broadened her experience to include HR Talent Strategy and teaching.
Megan Walker
Megan is a 2013 Management Engineering alumni. She began her career in manufacturing after several co-op opportunities in the industry. Megan’s first career change was out of manufacturing and into technology. She quickly saw how many parallels and multiple applications there were for concepts across both industries. Since then, Megan has spent the last decade in product and operational roles in the EdTech space continuing to grow her career by shifting into new roles to keep learning. She is currently the Director of Product Planning at D2L.
