What are you doing now and how does your engineering education from Waterloo help
with your life today?

Currently I am a technical program manager with Tesla. My area of focus is cell manufacturing and helping Tesla in making their own battery cells to power the vehicles sold by Tesla. My education directly relates to my area of work, as all of the manufacturing utilizes electromechanical systems, (machines) to build these cells.

Why did you decide to be a part of REAC?
I want to be a part of REAC as a way to continue to be a part of the Waterloo community. When I was in school, I was a residence life don for 3 years and really enjoyed the sense of community that came with it. I aim to be a part of building that within the engineering alumni community.

What is a favourite piece of advice or quote that you would be interested in sharing?
My favourite piece of advice that was given to me was: “Bloom where planted.” Sometimes you don’t get the job you want or are put in a situation that isn’t ideal. But that doesn’t mean you can’t shine and give it your all. It’s easy to be defeated and not try given the circumstances but choosing to have a positive attitude and continue to try will only serve to help you in the end.

What was your favourite place to eat at in Waterloo?
