Nurudeen Issifu is a Master’s (M.A.) student in the School of Planning under the supervision of Dawn Parker. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Development Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana. His research and professional experience lie at the intersection of urbanisation and sustainable development. Nurudeen's research interests include urban planning, green infrastructure, sustainable city development, food security, agriculture, land use planning and climate change mitigation and adaptation. His work employs mixed-method approaches (quantitative and qualitative) alongside GIS analysis. His current research focuses on investigating the establishment of edible landscapes in new residential developments in the Waterloo region.
