Thiruni Thirimanne is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering under the supervision of Bruce MacVicar. She is a Master’s (M.A.Sc.) graduate (2025) of Civil Engineering (Water) from the University of Waterloo and also holds her undergraduate degree from the same university. Her research interests include the effects of urbanization on watershed hydrology, GIS and remote sensing technologies, and how urban water balance can be used to assess greenhouse gas and carbon sequestration impacts on developments. Thiruni is contributing to Activity 5 on the RISE project.
