Lunch discussion at Brubacher House on carbon estimates using remotely piloted aircraft

During lunch at Brubacher House, participants heard from Dr. Derek Robinson on his work using remotely piloted aircraft to calculate terrestrial carbon estimates. Unfortunately, the rainy weather kept the aircraft and the group indoors!

Afternoon aquatic GHG measurements and biodiversity sampling demonstration

In the afternoon, participants headed to Columbia Lake on north campus to learn about how Dr. Maria Strack and her team measure methane using floating gas chambers and take sediment samples to measure carbon, and how Dr. Rebecca Rooney and her team sample stormwater ponds to determine their biodiversity and measure water quality.
