In April 2019, READI invited Alicia Rollo, CHRL from the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA), to represent both the International Actuarial Association (IAA) and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries at education-related meetings in Jakarta, Indonesia. CIA has been a strong supporter for READI and its work from the very beginning with their letter of support to the University of Waterloo in 2014 to aid their proposal to Global Affairs Canada for the funding to build the actuary profession in Indonesia. They have continued their support by providing a variety of CIA recourses and information available to READI's association partners such as PAI (Actuarial Association of Indonesia) as well as host a study tour with participants of academics, government representatives as well as READI staff in November 2018 in Ottawa.
Alicia most recently published an article in the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (e)Bulletin about her time Jakarta, and overall thoughts on how the project has successfully put into place steps that will ensure the sustainability of the immense work already done through READI to strengthen the actuarial profession within Indonesia.
