The end of 2023 was a very busy time for SPEC members and KPMG as they designed a comprehensive stakeholder engagement and consultation plan.

A mix of in-person and online sessions and surveys are planned so we can reach as many internal and external stakeholders as possible. The information gathered in these sessions will help set the Faculty of Science’s strategic priorities for the next 5-10 years.

The stakeholder engagement and consultation plan includes four major milestones: pre-consultations, current state workshops, future state workshops, and an open house to share our data in June.

Stakeholder consultation process

The pre-consultations stage consists of individual interviews with academic unit heads, departmental presentations to all employees, and consultations with undergraduate and graduate student representatives.

An initial consultation survey will capture key information about the needs and perspectives of Science employees and students. While all responses to this survey will be anonymous, participants can provide their email address for a chance to win one of three $100 gift cards to the UW Retail Store. The winners will be published on our website.

Watch your inbox for an email with the link to the survey and look out for posters with the QR code displayed in the Science buildings. You will also be able to access the link to the survey on the Strategic Planning website [link].

We want to hear your voice so please share your thoughts and help guide the strategic planning process for Science!

We will share more about future stages soon and look forward to your continued participation.
