Study Title: The Interaction Between Cerebellar and Afferent Inhibition in PA and AP Sensorimotor Circuitry

Participate in a Movement Neuroscience Study (age 18–35)

A cartoon illustration of two transcranial magnetic stimulation coils resting on a participants head

We’re studying how different parts of the brain and sensory systems work together to control hand movements. If you’re 18–35, you may be eligible for a single session (~4 hours) on campus.

What to expect

  • Non-invasive transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to examine brain–muscle connections

  • Gentle electrical pulses to a wrist nerve

  • Surface sensors on your hand to record muscle activity

These procedures are commonly used and non-invasive, and the study is approved by the University of Waterloo Research Ethics Board. You’ll receive $10/hour in appreciation of your time.

  2. You are older than 35 years old
  3. You have a history of seizures or a family history of seizures.
  4. You have been diagnosed with a concussion by a medical professional within the past three months, or you are currently being treated for post-concussion syndrome by a medical professional.
