Kayla is an undergraduate student completing an undergraduate senior research thesis (KIN 431/432) over the 2024-2025 academic year. Kayla is currently working towards the Bachelor of Science degree in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
Kayla's thesis research focuses on concussion and how exercise might be used to offset persistent concussion-related changes in the system of the brain responsible for precise skilled movements.
Prior to pursuing their undergraduate thesis research, Kayla complete a KIN 391 (Research Internship) in the SCiLL lab during the Winter 2023 semester. Kayla also spent a co-operative education semester conducting research in the Brain Behavior Laboratory in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Professor Lara Boyd.
