Tianna is an undergraduate student completing an undergraduate senior research thesis (KIN 431/432) over the 2024-2025 academic year. Tianna is currently working towards their Bachelor of Science degree in the Department of Kinesiology and Health Sciences.
Tianna's thesis research focuses on skilled expertise. Tianna is using musical expertise as a model to understand how the brain uses sensory information to inform skilled movements. In particular, Tianna is interested in using a form of non-invasive brain stimulation known as transcranial magnetic stimulation to measure a phenomena called short-latency afferent inhibition (SAI). SAI is a measure of how sensory information shapes the brain's output to muscles.
Tianna joined the SCiLL lab in January 2024.
