Hi Shads! My name is Lydia. I am so excited to get to know you all during my favourite month of the year! This will be my eighth summer with Shad (5 awesome Julys at Shad Waterloo, and 2 fabulous Julys with Shad online). I am an elementary school teacher (currently teaching grade 7/8), with a BEd from Niagara University. For my undergrad, I have a degree in Sexuality, Marriage and Family Studies at UWaterloo (with a few minors and specializations I picked up along the way), and with this intersection of degrees I am always keen to talk about social justice and how we can create more social justice informed classrooms.
I've also got passions for drawing, books, musicals, too much TV, superheroes, dogs, and mental health. I would love to talk with you about any of these things, and about the things that excite you! Can't wait for the month we have ahead!
