Hi Shads! My name is Lydia. I am so excited to get to know you all during my favourite month of the year! This will be my ninth summer with Shad (6 awesome Julys at Shad Waterloo, and 2 fabulous Julys with Shad Online). I am an elementary school teacher currently teaching grade 6, with a BEd from Niagara University. For my undergrad, I have a degree in Sexuality, Marriage and Family Studies at UWaterloo (with a few minors and specializations I picked up along the way), and with this intersection of degrees I am always keen to talk about social justice and how we can integrate it into classrooms.
I’m also passionate about drawing, books, musicals, too much TV, superheroes, dogs, tabletop role-play games and mental health. I would love to talk with you about any of these things, and about the things that excite you! Can't wait for the month we have ahead!
