Lydia is broadly interested in the factors that diminish or improve our attention. Her master’s thesis examined the replicability and generalizability of foundational research in the environmental psychology literature. In her PhD, she plans to better understand how more societal factors such as socioeconomic status (SES) and adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) impact aspects of our everyday attention (such as flow, mind wandering, and absentminded technology use). She is also interested in how the current global health crisis will impact attention in the short and long term.
