Short biography
Huawu Deng received his B.A.Sc. degree from Beijing University, Beijing, China, in 1992, his M.Eng. degree from the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration and Development, Beijing, China, in 1995, and his Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2001. From 2000 to 2002, he was an Information Technology Analyst for a regional bank in Singapore. He was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON, Canada.

My research interests are in image processing (texture modeling, image classification, image segmentation, image retrieval), computer vision, pattern recognition, and remote sensing data analysis.
