University of Waterloo faculty, students, and staff engage in cutting-edge research to solve
the world's complex challenges. Robust research infrastructure and facilities are key to that success.
Core Research Facilities at Waterloo
To ensure that research equipment, instruments, and facilities are used appropriately, efficiently and effectively, Waterloo has adopted a Core Facilities Framework to guide the establishment of a number of Core Research Facilities (CRF). Each CRF will provide improved access to researchers across our campus by developing, maintaining, sustaining, and when needed, replacing its infrastructure. CRFs operate openly and transparently and provide access to instruments, technologies and services. They are staffed by professional technical staff.
