Investigations into web search

Currently two different search solutions are being used on campus. We will refer to these to as "old" search (using Google Syndicated Search) and "new" search (using an older Google Application Programming Interface (API) combined with UWDir search and keywords). This group is investigating the current search strategies used on campus as well as other tools available from Google. The goal is to come up with a search solution that can be used across campus.

The two search solutions currently in use are no longer being supported or promoted by Google. Instead, 2 new free solutions and 3 enterprise solutions are provided. The group is investigating the pros and cons of these options.

Chaired by Megan McDermott, members include Allan Bell, Bill Oldfield (library), Paul Snyder, Gllen Anderson, Lauren Harrison (housing), Isaac Morland, Kevin Paxman
