Minutes of 15 June 2022 and Business Arising

WCMS 3 WAC website (Melissa Holst)
Melissa indicated that the Website Advisory Committee website has been launched to WCMS 3.
WCMS 3 Development (Kevin Paxman)
- Since the last WAC, WCMS 3.1.10 was released, with the big feature being the introduction of support for authentication required sites; full 3.1.10 release notes are on the Web Resource site
- WCMS 3.1.11 has just now been released, with the biggest features being adding support for a site subheader and adding WCMS 2’s caption field back to facts and figures; full 3.1.11 release notes are on the Web resources site
- Focus points in the current sprint include:
- Renaming St. Paul’s to United
- Adding basic Media management to the dashboard
- Getting ready to test the Ohana theming
- Determining what can be done to make the Bibliography replacement releasable in 3.1.13
- 3.1.12 coming in ~2 weeks
WCMS 3 Migration Update (Charlotte Armstrong)
- There are now 209 sites live in WCMS 3!
- There are approximately 50 sites that have migrated, been remediated, and are waiting for launch. Some have been in staging for quite awhile so I will be following up to see if those migrated sites need to be deleted and remigrated if there have been numerous updates to the live site.
- We have 6 co-ops that completed an aggressive training schedule and were able to start remediating sites just 4 days after the start of term. Considering we only had one with remediation and WCMS experience, we are very proud of how quickly they were able to learn! We expect to accelerate in efficiency and accuracy quicker than in any other term.
- Migration planning consult meetings will continue to be scheduled with website leads and site managers to create individualized migration plans for complex sites and departments/faculties with many sites to migrate. We will continue to encourage a collaborative remediation plan which allows the website lead's team to comparison check the web pages, while our team remediates all other content types. We find this to be the most efficient and give the website lead and their team a chance to review their content for accessibility, errors, as well as remediate any migration issues.

- Sarah: Form editor permission request can now be emailed to wcms@uwaterloo.ca rather than submitting an RT.
- 320 current completions for WCMS 3 Fundamentals, 60 for 3 Web Forms completions.
UW Scholar (Greg Smith)
- Open scholar will be coming to an end, and are in the initial stages of conversation to see what we need to replace this, come up with a more integrated solution.
- Will be having more conversations and open consultations.
