Wendi Campbell

The Faculty of Arts has lost an outstanding alumna, Wendi Campbell (BA’93), who passed away on January 15, 2024. Campbell majored in Speech Communication (now called Communication Studies) and went on to make significant social impacts, which notably included leading the Food Bank of Waterloo Region as CEO for more than 15 years.

“Wendi was the epitome of compassion, service, and devotion to creating positive change in the world. We, in the Faculty of Arts, are so proud to have her as an Arts alumna and to have had the opportunity to work with and learn from her,” said Sheila Ager, Dean of Arts.

After graduating from Waterloo, Campbell remained an engaged and supportive alumnus as a member of Alumni Council, as a panelist and guest speaker for our students, and as a passionate supporter of the Arts Co-op for Social Good program, which supports non-profits to provide paid co-op positions for students.

The Faculty extends deepest condolences to Campbell’s family, colleagues and friends.
