The University of Waterloo has a reputation as the most innovative and the best at producing future leaders, and ultimately the best overall.

Waterloo is committed to significantly increasing research-based graduate studies at the University in the next decade. The university recognizes the need for more graduate programs in professional fields to meet the needs of Canada’s changing economy.

By 2017, we plan to more than double our graduate student population. We aim to have 8,000 graduate students – 5,000 in research programs and 3,000 in professional and course-based master’s programs. That’s a big, bold leap forward from the 4,800+ graduate students now at Waterloo!
