As of April 2, 2024, the Graduate Studies Academic Calendar has a new look and feel. A new software system is being used to publish the academic calendar, resulting in a few key changes.
New website link (URL)
Old Calendar URL: https://uwaterloo.ca/graduate-studies-academic-calendar/
New Calendar URL: https://uwaterloo.ca/academic-calendar/graduate-studies/catalog#/home
Redirects have been added so that any old Calendar links will continue to take you to the content, but you will want to update any bookmarks you might have saved.
New navigation and look/feel
Content is grouped by programs, courses as well as regulations
All archived Calendars are available on the archives section of the Calendar website
Content is displayed within the shell of the WCMS 3.0 look/feel; the navigation remains on the left-hand side as it did in the previous Calendar and content is displayed in the most intuitive way possible.
Search
Overall search will search all content at once, no longer excluding courses, and the three main areas (Programs & Plans, Courses, Regulations) have additional searching and/or filtering options.
The spring 2024 version of the Calendar is effective May 1, 2024 - August 31, 2024. You're encouraged to review the updated version of the Calendar for course listings and regulations, but continue to follow the requirements for your academic program in the Calendar of the term you're currently following. As a reminder, students follow the program requirements listed in the Calendar of the term they began their degree. The list of archived Calendars is available in the archives section of the Calendar website.

The University of Waterloo acknowledges that much of our work takes place on the traditional territory of the Neutral, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee peoples. Our main campus is situated on the Haldimand Tract, the land granted to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. Our active work toward reconciliation takes place across our campuses through research, learning, teaching, and community building, and is co-ordinated within the Office of Indigenous Relations.
