FALL 2013 term move-out information
On November 14th, you will receive an email from Waterloo Residences indicating when your final exam for the term will be.
You are not permitted to stay with other residents, you must vacate residence completely. Any student found to be residing in their room will be charged $100 for every day they stay beyond the 24 hour policy.
On December 31st, you must move out by 12 noon.
Extensions will only be granted to:
- International/out-of-province students who have a pre-purchased airline ticket with a departure date extending beyond the 24 hour move-out deadline.
- Students with a permanent address from postal codes P or K (Northern Ontario).
- Students with academic course requirement due dates past their move-out deadline. The professor must provide written notice to the student's Residence Life Co-ordinator.

Students returning next term
If you're returning to the same room, it’s not necessary to remove your belongings or to return keys. We do suggest that you take home any valuables.
If you are moving to a different room or residence for the next term, and you are an international, out-of-province, or student with a postal code beginning with K or P, you are required to submit a Storage Request to make arrangements for your belongings.
If you do not meet the above criteria, then you will need to remove your belongings from your room. Check out Store Your Dorm for short term options.
Students not returning next term
Be sure to remove all your personal belongings. Any items left behind will be disposed of which will result in a charge to your account.
Please return your keys, ResNet ethernet card and cable (if applicable) to the Front Desk. Failure to return your keys will result in a $50 charge to pay for a lock change.
Address changes must be made through Canada Post prior to your moving date. We are not able to forward mail to your new address.
Upon vacating your room, if you are not returning to that room next term, an inspection will take place to assess standards of cleanliness. If your room does not pass the inspection you will be held financially responsible for any cleaning or repairs. Items left behind will be disposed of which will also result in a charge to your account.
When you move out, your room is expected to be in the same condition as it was when you moved in.
Please check all the "needs improvement" boxes on your inspection sheet and have these items corrected prior to your final inspection.
