Prusa i3 MK3S+ and MINI+ Materials
All materials used in the Prusa printers cost $0.03 per gram
- PLA
- Very strong filament, capable of higher resolution, easy to print with
- Brittle, not very resistant to high heat or elements
- PETG
- Comparable strength to PLA, higher heat, UV an chemical resistance, generally more durable, can be sterilized/food safe
- Resolution isn't as good as PLA, can have minor print bed adhesion issues
- TPU (flex)
- Flexable, shock and impact absorbant, fairly high resolution capabilities
- Can be difficult to work with (stringy, presets too hot/cold), difficult to sand/post process, bed adhesion is too strong if put directly on steel/satin sheet
Elegoo Jupiter and Saturn 3 Ultra Materials
All materials used in the Elegoo printers cost $0.06 per gram.
- Standard Resin is a light sensitive liquid that when exposed to light, especially UV, hardens. Resin creates a stiff, solid, and high detailed print with a smooth surface finish making it the best material for models or other non functional prints.
-
ABS-Like Resin is similar to standard resin, but is generally stronger and shatter resistant. It is not as suited to thin walls and will produce slightly lower detail quality.
Makerbot Materials
The Method X can print in numerous high-quality materials. The following table contains some material properties of all of the materials we are currently offering. Please note that we may not have all colors or materials in stock, and it may take up to a week for new filaments to arrive.
