Sisir Pradhan is one of five Ph.D. scholars who received a FISH research grant from WorldFish, which recognizes Ph.D. scholars who are interested in the research of fisheries worldwide. Sisir has been doing research on dried fish value chains and public policy in West Bengal, Odisha and Assam, India. “Despite its importance, work on dried fish value chains continues to focus on financial value creation,” said Sisir. “The objective of this research is to examine if and how a social-ecological systems perspective may offer a comparative advantage to analyse all factors inherent in dried fish value chains in small-scale fisheries contexts.” Congratulations Sisar!

**Not only are our students successful in winning awards,  Majid Mirza, a PhD candidate in Sustainability Management at SEED, played a large role in establishing a scholarship, along with several other donors at Conrad Grebel University College, honouring the legacy of Malcolm X. This scholarship will be awarded to a Masters student in the Peace and Conflict Studies (MPACS) program who has demonstrated an unapologetic commitment to truth and justice, similar to Malcom X’s legacy of dedication to advancement of racial justice and interfaith harmony.
