Program: Honours Science (with CAP status)

Year: 2

Stream of study: Regular

Pronouns: She/Her

Career goal: Pharmacist!

How I get involved: Coming from a small town, I welcomed the large UW campus. There are always interesting events to partake in. I have visited the Gustav Bakos Observatory, participated in Relay for Life, and volunteered at the 2023 March Open House. I am also a member of the UW Pre-Pharmacy club and active in the Faculty of Science, including volunteering as a Science Ambassador and attending ice cream socials with Cobalt the Dino!

Why I love my program

In grade 11, I learned of the Honours Science program and was attracted to its flexibility. I enjoy the freedom I have with my course selections and schedule. I also hold CAP status (Conditional Admission to Pharmacy). This is an excellent opportunity for those like myself who discovered a passion for pharmacy during high school. Since it is a small group of students that hold this status, we can make meaningful connections with individuals we will share six years with!

Why University of Waterloo?

In 2019, I attended the TAM Math Conference at the University of Waterloo. I was impressed with the campus, the buildings, and the guest speakers I listened to. When it came time to apply to universities, I knew I wanted to study science, but I had so many questions about my prospective options. The University and its science ambassadors were very thorough in answering all my questions, made me feel comfortable with my choices, and ultimately led to my choosing the school.
