Program: Psychology

Year: 4

Stream of study: Co-op

Pronouns: She/Her

Career goal: Human Resources Manager (i think!)

How I get involved: I was previously involved in many clubs. I was apart of the executive team for the UW K-pop Club, and I was a part of the A Capella Club (UWACC) for one semester. I am also doing Volleyball Intramurals and am involved in the Move Your Mind Program with Waterloo Athletics! I also worked part-time with the Writing and Communication Center for over a year as a Peer Tutor.

Why I love my program

I love psychology because it is such a diverse program. There is so much that you can learn and so many directions that you can go in once you graduate. You can tailor your courses based on your interests. For example, I found myself very interested in Bioinformatics, so I am taking as many of my Science electives in Bioinformatics as I can. I also love HR-adjacent Psychology courses, so I am taking upper year Psychology courses which are relevant to that field like Personnel Psychology and Training & Development.

Why University of Waterloo?

My biggest reason for choosing UW was because of the Co-op Program. I am on my third co-op term, and I absolutely believe I made the correct decision. Co-op has broadened my horizons and introduced me to fields of work I would have never considered, and people who I am grateful to work alongside. I also chose Waterloo for the campus, as I believe our campus is beautiful in all seasons.
