Generating knowledge about social innovations and the social innovation process
At the Waterloo Institute for Social Innovation and Resilience (WISIR), we are committed to generating trans- and inter-disciplinary knowledge about social innovations and the social innovation process (the dynamics of learning, adaptation and resilience).
Established in 2009 by Frances Westley, WISIR's approach is to pursue collaborative research and projects that bridge University of Waterloo faculties and departments, engage researchers from around the world, and connect beyond the academic community with social innovators in other sectors.
WISIR seeks to mobilize this knowledge through a range of curriculum offerings and training opportunities - both within and outside of a university setting.

Unlocking the transformative potential of social finance requires a collaborative and dynamic approach. We invite you to join WISIR as we delve into the transformative work of enhancing the self governance capacity of the social finance ecosystem in Canada through decolonial approaches to systems mapping, principles-focused evaluation, and tailored learning initiatives.
