Description

The Waterloo Leadership Academy is now accepting participants for the Spring 2025 offering. Offered once a year, the Leadership Academy is an in-person intensive retreat for academic leaders at Waterloo. Intended primarily for department chairs and school directors, the Academy provides highly engaging executive education and opportunities for interaction with colleagues from across campus.

Waterloo's Leadership Academy involves a three-day off-site learning retreat from May 7th to 9th and a one half-day retreat (date of the half-day still TBC, dependent on participant and facilitator availability). The offsite retreat on May 7 to 9th will be held at Waterloo's Stratford Campus and on-site accommodations will be provided to participants. Accommodations will be provided at the Best Western and learning sessions will place at our state-of-the-art classrooms on the Stratford campus.

The curriculum and programming is being designed and coordinated by Mark Weber, Special Advisor to the Provost on Leadership Strategy and Development and Martin Cooke, Assistant Vice President, Academic Leadership and Strategic Initiatives. Topics to be covered over the three days include Leadership, Change Management, Negotiation, Leading Team Decision-making, Thinking Strategically, and more.
