About Accessible Education at Waterloo

The University of Waterloo is on a journey to create and sustain more effective accessible education strategies for our community of learners through the launch of the Accessible Education Project--one arm of the University's wider Disability Inclusion project. The following flow diagram illustrates the relationship between these aspects of Waterloo's Disability Inclusion work, the Accessible Education Project, the Teaching Innovation Incubator, and source of information shared on this Accessible Education Hub:

The following is a brief overview of accessibility work taking place at the University of Waterloo.

Projects

Accessible Education Project comprises three sub-teams working collaboratively within Waterloo's Teaching Innovation Incubator to address AODA recommendations focused on: instructional programs and practices; learning tools and materials; and policy and guidelines.

The Disability Inclusion Steering Committee (DISCo) provides leadership for the University's wider disability inclusion project, focused on physical and financial barriers for disabled persons learning, teaching, and working at Waterloo.
