The Accessible Housing Application enables Campus Housing and the AFIW residences to assign rooms that accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities.
When does the Accessible housing application need to be submitted?
Incoming first-year undergraduate students participating in the residence guarantee should submit the Accessible Housing Application by the deadline of the First-Year Guarantee Residence Application in order to be guaranteed a reasonable accessible housing supports. We will do our best to still provide reasonable housing supports to those that miss the deadline. However, we cannot guarantee based on space availability.
For any other student type (ex. upper year, exchange, graduate):
- We accept documentation on a rolling basis, there is no defined deadline. However, it is recommended to submit your Accessible Housing Application on or around the date that you submit your residence application.
- Once the accessible housing recommendation is received the student will receive a residence assignment that meets the documented need or be re-assigned to an appropriate assignment, pending availability of space in residence.
- If you have previously registered with Accessible Housing, and your accommodation supports continue to meet your disability-based needs, you do not need to submit a new application.
