The Teaching and Learning AI Fellowships are funded opportunities led by the Office of the Associate Vice-President, Academic (AVPA) to help instructors and teams across disciplines pilot and assess new GenAI-enabled approaches that support teaching and learning. Only full-time faculty members are eligible to apply for Tier 1 Fellowships.

Tier 1 Fellowships are intended to identify champions for more effective teaching with GenAI who will experiment, develop, and help move colleagues forward toward better and more productive uses of GenAI in teaching and learning. These Fellowships should result in tangible outputs that improve the University through their transferability to various educational contexts. Tier 1 projects may be especially appropriate for faculty members, including teaching stream faculty interested in Educational Leadership, and teaching stream faculty members eligible for earned course reductions (see Policy 76) may want to combine the fellowship resources with the extra time provided by the course reduction in a larger project.

Please complete this web form to submit your Tier 1 AI Fellowship application. Applications are due by April 10, 2026 by the end of the day (11:59pm).
