New AI and Teaching website launches for Waterloo instructors
The University of Waterloo has launched a new AI and Teaching website, bringing together practical guidance, resources, and examples to help instructors make informed decisions about using generative artificial intelligence (AI) in their teaching.
Developed through the GenAI Teaching Enablement Project, a campus-wide initiative led by the Office of the Associate Vice-President, Academic, and Teaching Support and Innovation (TSI), the website offers guidance on course and curriculum design, assessment, teaching students about AI, and emerging practices. It also provides information about centrally supported tools and services, institutional policies, and privacy and security considerations.
The resource was developed by a cross-functional working group from TSI and Instructional Technologies and Media Services, with contributions and feedback from Teaching Fellows and the project’s Steering Committee. The resources emphasize intentional and responsible use and align with Waterloo’s Principles for Teaching with AI, which are mapped to the institution wide Principles for use of AI (provisional).
Explore the AI and Teaching website to find resources and examples relevant to your teaching context.
