Astronomy on Tap is back in KW, so join us to sit back, relax, and learn about the Universe, while also having a couple of drinks and a bit of fun!
There are hundreds of billions of galaxies in the Universe, but only one that we call home -- the Milky Way. It contains the Earth, the Sun, and countless other stars. But what else is contained in our galaxy? What do we not know about it? And what can we learn about the other galaxies nearby to us?
At Astronomy on Tap this month, we'll be hearing all about our place in the Universe, from two researchers at the University of Waterloo. Ana Ennis will speak about the Milky Way, and share some of the science of our home galaxy. Then, Cam Morgan will give a tour our cosmic neighbourhood -- the Local Group of galaxies -- which reside just beyond the Milky Way.
