Astronomy on Tap is back in KW, so join us to sit back, relax, and learn about the Universe, while also having a couple of drinks and a bit of fun!
Every August the Earth passes through the tail of a large comet flying around our Solar System, giving us the annual Perseids meteor shower. To celebrate, we'll be talking about our cosmic neighbourhood, but also about other planets beyond the edge of our Solar System...
We'll be joined by two guest speakers: Jake Ferguson from the University of Waterloo will speak about how satellites are used to study the Earth from space, and Michael Balogh, also from the University of Waterloo, will speak about how astronomers are studying planets beyond our own Solar System, and searching them for signs of life!
