Come and learn about time, space, and the Universe – over a beer!
Astronomy on Tap is back in KW, so join us to sit back, relax, and learn about the Universe, while also having a couple of drinks and a bit of fun!
Since it launched almost five years ago, the James Webb Space Telescope has completely changed our view of the cosmos, peering into the depths of our own galaxy, and photographing the most distant reaches of our Universe.
At Astronomy on Tap this month, two astronomers from the University of Waterloo will share some of what we've learned so far from this groundbreaking telescope. Owen Lammert will talk about studying the atmospheres of molten lava planets, and Liza Sazonova will talk about "little red dots" and "black hole stars", some of the most distant, extreme objects in our Universe.
