Dr. Chloe Cheng is a Research Excellence Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on understanding galaxy formation and evolution across a range of physical scales. She uses spectroscopy and full-spectrum stellar population modelling to characterize the stellar initial mass function (IMF), elemental abundances, and formation histories of galaxies, with much of her recent work focused on massive, quiescent galaxies at cosmic noon. She works extensively with JWST observations and large survey data (LEGA-C, SDSS). She is involved in collaborations including SUSPENSE and IMFERNO, and is leading a JWST Cycle 5 NIRCam imaging program investigating the role of mergers in galaxy evolution.
