The Canadian Coastal Resilience Forum (CCRF) is pleased to welcome its newest member, Shaieree Cottar as the Coordinator. Shaieree is a graduate of the BES program at York University and a MES candidate in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo. She has had a breadth of experience working in academia and the public sector from working for the Ontario Public Service to Environmental NGOs in the global south. Shaieree’s current research is focused on flood governance and Canadian policies related to disaster risk reduction, managed retreat and resilience building against hazards.
"I’m very excited to join the CCRF community, and thrilled to be engaging with different stakeholders about policy and governance strategies that relate to climate change adaptation and hazards in Canada’s coastal regions as it’s such a current topic!" Cottar said.
As the coordinator, she will be responsible for organizing and facilitating CCRF activities and engagement with different stakeholders. She will also be engaging in internal and external communications, including social media and online digital content.
Please join us in welcoming Shaieree to CCRF!
