Team

The management team consists of the Team Lead, Business Manager, Public Relations Captain, and Guidelines and Regulations Captain. These members are responsible for all administrative tasks, and are in constant contact with the University, sponsors, and American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). Students gain invaluable project management experience by being a part of this team, and have the chance to network with industry professionals.

Students on this team are responsible for the comprehensive design of the steel bridge structure, including detailing of the members and connections. Design software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, and Solid Works will be used extensively, by the students to draft connection proposals and perform tension calculations.

Students will use the design provided by the construction team to fabricate structural steel elements in the university shop. They will develop machine shop skills, including welding techniques. Students will also gain a better understanding of the material and its behaviour.

Students on this team will assemble the members fabricated by their colleagues, while following competition rules. They will also be the key participants during the steel bridge competition. These students will gain practical construction experience, and will learn to effectively work as a group.
