Unit IT updates (Roundtable)
Committee members provided updates on recent IT initiatives in their areas. The group consensus was that sharing this information is valuable and the effort should be continued on an ongoing basis.
Information Systems & Technology (IST) Organize for Success update (Bob Hicks)
The internal-to-IST repurposed position recruitment process has begun. IST staff have until September 6th to express their interest. The positions open to all of campus will be posted soon.

Applied Health Sciences (AHS) and Engineering Grad Students e-mail to be provisioned on Exchange starting this fall.
File Storage (Bruce Campbell)
Planning underway to migrate Science users from ‘scifile’ to ‘crumb’.
Active Directory (Bruce Campbell)
2003 Nexus Domain Controllers (DC) decommissioning continues. One 2003 DC remains to support ‘scifile’, and all other DCs are now at Server 2008R2, and in one of the two IST data centres.

Nothing to report
IT security (Jason Testart)

- Security of printers - Still over 100 on the public network.
- NetID has had a gradual rollout and will go “live” on Tuesday, August 13th.
Campus Firewall (Bruce Campbell)
- Scheduling meetings with IT Directors and Associate Deans in some faculties re firewall preparations.
- A follow up security architecture audit is planned for the fall term.
Student Printing (Bill Baer)
A vendor has been selected.
Other business
- Lisa Tomalty is working on the upgrade to RT4. Will be looking for volunteers to help with this.
- Stephen Markan will be implementing SharePoint Server 2013.

The next meeting will be held on August 22, 2013, at 1:30pm, in MC 2018A.
