The minutes from the meeting on April 30th, were accepted as distributed.
Long term agenda discussion – next steps
- Prioritized the agenda topics at last meeting.
- For each of the top 6 topics we need to determine:
- Champion/sponsor
- Presenter(s)
- Frame the discussion; what do we want out of the topic? We need deliverables and expectations.
- The “Software Development” topic was the most popular; Dave Kibble will work with Bill Ince to frame the discussion and identify the above criteria.
- Bob Hicks will speak to Andrew McAlorum about bringing the “WCMS Feature Request List” to the CTSC meeting on May 28th.
Roundtable Reporting
Arts (Dawn Keenan)
- We are hoping to try eValuate as a pilot during the summer term; details are to be determined.
- The Mac lab upgrades are complete at the Waterloo campus; expecting to upgrade the Stratford campus sometime over the next few months.
- SCCM – we are working on automating reports on software that has failed, so we will be fully aware to trouble shoot more effectively.
Portfolio Management, IST (Dave Kibble)

Instructional Technology & Multimedia Services (Andrea Chappell)
- Video storage and delivery project: sent out a set of questions to the CUCCIO group.
- If you have any questions about the recent LEARN outage please contact Andrea Chappell.
Environment (Marko Dumancic)
- FORE continues to be a discussion topic in our area; talking about setting up some training sessions for researchers to try to get them past the frustrating aspects of it.
- Faculty members were unhappy with some of the enrollment numbers they were getting from IAP; there are discrepancies between IAP’s list and the actual class list.
Engineering (Erick Engelke)
- Firewall migration is progressing.
- Sharing some of our technology with other groups:
- Sharing group creation for SharePoint with IST.
- Sharing our 31 digit account number verifier with Human Resources.
- Have done a fair amount of work on the Asset Management project.
- Development server meets all the criteria provided.
- Building the production device.
- Created an introduction video.
- Will need to conduct a gap analysis still.
- Have replaced using SharePoint with OwnCloud recently in some places; some users find it easier to work with.
Client Services, IST (Bob Hicks)
- Email has been sent out about a Windows 10 seminar that Microsoft will be doing in June.
- IST has been asked to take on support of a couple other services:
- Digital Asset Management Services
- Absence Management system
- Kevin Paxman created the program and maintains it on his own time.
- If it passes the upcoming security scan, IST has been asked to support it until an alternative is implemented.
