DECA Grit

June 13, 2026

Becoming what it means to be a leader today

As artificial intelligence reshapes how organizations operate, leaders are increasingly called upon to do more than interpret data or adopt new technologies. The real differentiator is the ability to apply sound judgement in situations where outcomes are uncertain, trade-offs are complex and the “right answer” is not always clear.

This year’s DECA Grit Conference, hosted by the School of Accounting and Finance (SAF) at the University of Waterloo in partnership with Ontario DECA, will give you the opportunity to develop your skills with guidance from SAF faculty and current students. You will explore leadership-driven decision-making, apply sustainable practices and learn how to leverage technology effectively.

The afternoon will then transition to putting these skills to the test through a financial analysis case study presentation.

Register using the link below to secure your spot. The conference will take place on June 13, 2026, at Hagey Hall (HH) at the University of Waterloo. In the event of a cancellation please email saf@uwaterloo.ca . We will not be tracking cancellations via Eventbrite.
