person performing normal pushup compared with person performing pushup plus variant technique

DIESEL was in the news today, with various sources covering the details of our latest published study about the pushup plus (PUP) technique, entitled "Examining upper extremity muscle demand during selected push-up variants". Researchers Andrew Ho, Alan Cudlip, Daniel Ribeiro, and Clark Dickerson found that performing different hand placements, contact areas and humeral rotation resulted in muscle strategy changes that can potentially help tailor the use of modified PUP exercises to achieve various exercise goals that target individual muscles or muscle groups.

Clark Dickerson was interviewed about the benefits of our research and how it could be applied to other populations (such as breast cancer survivors). Below are some of the links to the news reports!
