Bibliography

Karolina is a PhD student at the Institute for Quantum Computing (IQC), where she began her doctoral research in January 2025 under the supervision of Professor Matteo Mariantoni. Her current work focuses on nonlinear superconducting circuits.

She earned her MSc in Optoelectronics and Quantum Technologies from the University of Bristol, UK, where she worked on the design of nonlinear mode converters for integrated photonic systems.

Before her Master’s, Karolina spent a year at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire, where she conducted research on energy loss and simulations related to an electron-muon source at the synchrotron facility. This experience played a key role in developing her interest in experimental physics and large-scale research environments.

Karolina is also interested in science communication and regularly takes part in outreach activities, including work with the National Space Centre in the UK, where she contributed to efforts to make science more engaging and accessible.

Outside the lab, she enjoys running in nature, listening to live metal music, and relaxing with a good beer.
